Alexa, thank you for sharing your experience with working in a skilled nursing facility! This was a great debrief. I enjoyed learning about what to look forward to when I go to my SNF location for my first Level II placement. You seem to have had a great attitude about your time spent there and have some great outlooks on what to learn for your next rotation! I hope you enjoy your summer break!
ReplyDeleteAlexa, thank you for your video! I have not had a fieldwork at a SNF so it was great to hear a firsthand experience and get to know more about the setting. I love that you said your favorite part of your rotation was getting to know the clients and hearing about their lives! I am sure they loved getting to talk to you and having someone there to listen to them! You are going to be an awesome client-centered OT!! I am also really looking forward to Level II Fieldwork. I think the things that you are going to do to prepare are great and will really help for almost any OT setting. When you are able to I think asking your future fieldwork educator about the common assessments used at your site would be very helpful! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and have a fantastic summer break!
